Geo-Locked

What the app stores

Each pin you make: its title, message, category, exact location, unlock radius, unlock date and when you unlocked it.

Voice notes you record (up to three minutes) and photos you add, saved in the app's private storage on your phone.

Your location

While the app is open, it uses your phone's location to show where you are and to check whether you're standing inside a pin's radius. Your location is only saved as the place of a pin you create, and it never leaves your phone.

Geo-Locked doesn't use your location in the background.

Map imagery

The map loads from Esri's map servers (server.arcgisonline.com). Like any website, those servers see your IP address and which part of the map you're looking at, which is usually around where you are. No pins, messages, photos or coordinates are sent.

Permissions

Location: to show you on the map and unlock pins, only while the app is open.

Microphone: to record a voice note, only while you're recording.

Photos you add come from your camera app or the system photo picker, so the app only gets the photo you take or choose.

Sharing

Geo-Locked doesn't share, sell or send your data to anyone.

Deleting your data

Delete a pin to remove it from the app. In the current version, the pin's voice note or photo file stays in the app's private storage until you uninstall the app or clear its storage in Android settings.

Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored.

Children

Geo-Locked isn't aimed at children.

Phone backups

If you've turned on backup to your Google account in Android's settings, Android may include Geo-Locked's saved data in that backup. The backup belongs to your Google account and isn't sent to me.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
