SnapSort
SnapSort has no account, no ads and no analytics, and it can't connect to the internet: it has no internet permission. Your screenshots never leave your phone unless you share them.
What the app reads and stores
SnapSort reads the screenshots in your phone's Screenshots folders where they are; it doesn't copy them. To recognise which app a screenshot came from by its look, it keeps a tiny 24 × 52 pixel copy of each one.
Your favourites, albums, the screenshots you've kept while cleaning, and app labels you set yourself.
It reads the names of your installed apps to label screenshots.
Usage access (optional)
If you grant usage access in Android settings, SnapSort reads your phone's app-usage history to see which app was on screen when each screenshot was taken. It checks every 12 hours in the background and keeps only which app each screenshot belongs to.
You can turn usage access off at any time in Android settings.
Deleting screenshots
On Android 11 and later, screenshots you delete go to the system's trash, where you can restore them for 30 days.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, a report is saved on your phone, including your phone's model and Android version. At the next launch SnapSort offers to share it. It's only sent if you tap share, to the app you pick.
Permissions
Photos: to read your screenshots.
Usage access: optional, to label screenshots by app.
Storage on older Android versions: to delete screenshots.
Sharing
Screenshots you share go through Android's share sheet to the app you pick. SnapSort doesn't share, sell or send any data itself.
Deleting your data
Remove albums and favourites in the app. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes its labels, thumbnails and albums. Your screenshots stay in your gallery.
Children
SnapSort isn't aimed at children and collects nothing from anyone.
Phone backups
If you've turned on backup to your Google account in Android's settings, Android may include SnapSort's saved data in that backup. The backup belongs to your Google account and isn't sent to me.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
