Spots

Your account

Signing in is optional and uses your Google account. Spots keeps your Google name, email and profile picture with your account. Your name and picture are shown to other signed-in people next to your visits.

Saved spots and visits

The spots you save and the visits you log (date, ratings and notes) are stored on Spots' server.

Visits, including their ratings and notes, are public reviews: other signed-in people can see them in the community list. Don't write anything in a note that you want to keep private.

How the app is used

To improve Spots, the app records which features are used: screens opened, spots viewed, saved and shared, events opened, and taps on tickets or "add to calendar".

Each record carries a random ID kept on your phone, the app version and the platform. Once you sign in, records are also linked to your account. They never include your location. There are no third-party analytics or ads.

Your location

"Near me" asks for your location once, to sort spots by distance. That happens on your phone; your location isn't saved or sent to Spots' server.

The map loads from OpenStreetMap, whose servers see your IP address and the area of the map you're viewing.

Other services

Spots' server runs on Supabase, which stores the data above for Spots.

Directions, TikTok videos, calendar events, tickets and event sources open in Google Maps, TikTok, Google Calendar, Telegram or your browser, under those services' policies.

Permissions

Location: for "Near me", only when you use it.

Internet: to load spots, events and maps.

Sharing

Sharing a spot sends its name and a link through Android's share sheet. Spots doesn't sell your data.

Deleting your data

Remove saved spots and visits in the app, and sign out at any time.

To delete your account and everything linked to it, email kidyoh789@gmail.com from your account's email address, and it will be deleted within 30 days.

Children

Spots is for adults (18 and over).

Phone backups

If you've turned on backup to your Google account in Android's settings, Android may include Spots's saved data in that backup. The backup belongs to your Google account and isn't sent to me.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
