Wazer

What the app stores

The place you've chosen (its name, region and coordinates), your units and style, the last forecast so the app opens offline, and the images for your home-screen widgets.

Weather and search

Each time the forecast refreshes, Wazer sends the coordinates of your chosen place to Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com), which also sees your IP address. When you search for a place, the text you type goes to Open-Meteo's place search.

Open-Meteo handles these requests under its own privacy policy.

Your location

Only if you tap "Use my location", Wazer asks for your approximate location, rounds it to about 100 metres and saves it as your place. Those coordinates are then sent to Open-Meteo for the forecast. Your phone's location service (usually Google on Android) is asked for the place's name.

Wazer never uses your location in the background. Widgets update from the forecast already on your phone.

Permissions

Approximate location: only when you tap "Use my location".

Internet: for the forecast and place search.

Starting after a restart: to keep widgets refreshing.

Sharing

Wazer doesn't sell your data or share it with anyone other than Open-Meteo, as described above.

Deleting your data

Choosing another place replaces the saved one. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes everything.

Children

Wazer isn't aimed at children.

Phone backups

If you've turned on backup to your Google account in Android's settings, Android may include Wazer's saved data in that backup. The backup belongs to your Google account and isn't sent to me.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
