Liquid Launcher
An Android home screen with refracting liquid glass and a dynamic island.
A full Android launcher you can set as your Home app. Its glass panels really refract whatever sits behind them, and an island around the front camera springs open for music, charging, the silent switch and notifications, then closes itself.
- Platforms
- Android
- Version
- 1.0
- Built with
- Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, AGSL shaders, Robolectric, Roborazzi

What it does
- Island around the camera with album art, sound bars, a full player and alerts, shown over other apps
- Jiggle mode with drag and drop, folders, a dock, undo and redo
- Notification Center, Control Center, Today View, App Library and search with a calculator
- Weather, calendar, clock and battery widgets; four icon styles and nine wallpapers
How it’s built
- The home screen is recorded into a GPU layer each frame; each glass panel blurs its slice, then an AGSL shader adds refraction, a chromatic split and a specular rim
- Older phones fall back to frosted glass
- 26 unit and screenshot tests, including timing tests for how the island opens and closes
