Explain It Visually

Explain It Visually has no account, no server, no ads and no analytics. The built-in library of charts works offline. When you ask your own question, the app sends it to OpenRouter using your own API key.

What the app stores

Your OpenRouter API key and chosen model, in Android's encrypted secure storage. Your questions and answers aren't saved.

Your questions

When you ask a question, its text is sent to OpenRouter (openrouter.ai), which passes it to the AI model you picked (Google's Gemini by default). The facts that come back are sent in a second request to choose how to chart them. When you save a key, it's checked with OpenRouter.

This happens under your own OpenRouter account and key, and OpenRouter and the model's provider handle it under their privacy policies.

AI answers can be wrong; check anything important.

Charts

Charts are drawn on your phone by code built into the app. It doesn't load web pages or anything else from the internet.

Sharing

A share link contains the chart's facts and layout, not your question or anything about you. Anyone you send it to can open the chart.

The app doesn't sell your data or send it anywhere except OpenRouter.

Deleting your data

Tap "Remove key" in settings to delete your key. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored. Anything sent to OpenRouter falls under its policy and your account with it.

Children

Explain It Visually isn't aimed at children.

Phone backups

If you've turned on backup to your Google account in Android's settings, Android may include Explain It Visually's saved data in that backup. The backup belongs to your Google account and isn't sent to me.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
